Lenten Quiet Day, February 27

Lent is a time of preparing for Easter. This quiet day (not silent, just quiet) will be a morning of spiritual reflection interwoven with talks and time to practice prayer to enhance the Lenten Journey toward Easter. The only prerequisite is a willingness to slow down for a few hours one Saturday morning.

Lenten Series: Mountains of Matthew

Tuesdays beginning February 23 in Hauser Hall

We will explore the "Mountain Top" experiences in Matthew's Gospel. Our clergy will lead reflections on Matthew's use of the mountain to speak spiritual truths about Jesus and the Kingdom of God.

Catered dinner, 6:30 p.m. Suggested donation is $5. Child care will be provided.

Palm Sunday Plant Sale

Adult Discovery Class

Our one-weekend class is designed for newcomers, those who want to be confirmed or received, or anyone who would like to learn more about St. Mark's, the Episcopal Church, and our journey of faith. We have open conversation about reading the Bible, praying with the Prayer Book, and exploring how we do thins in the Episcopal Church.

March 5, beginning with dinner at 6 p.m., and March 6, beginning with breakfast at 8:30 a.m.


Children's Activities

Tuesdays during Lent

Children will take a journey to the heart of Jesus learning compassion towards the needy. Following the meal in Hauser Hall, first through fifth graders will gather for this special series during which families are invited to donate $1.25 each week to be collected and sent to a children's clothing program. We will also explore a fun way to pray with the "prayer ball."

Communion Workshop

Parents and children will spend the morning learning more about the Eucharist. The day will be filled with activities: listening to stories of the Passover and the Last Supper; learning about and baking bread (which will then be used for Communion bread at the 9 a.m. service; touring the sacristy and learning about vestments and Eucharistic vessels.
